The drivers
In the drivers' page you can select the type of training which the drivers can do during the week and it is divided into primary and secondary training (differences will be explained in the Training section) and it's also possible to hire another driver with the talent scouts. This is not possible after the updating of week 11 between 7:00 and 8:00 due to contracts' updating. Once the young driver is hired he will have 1-season contract and his quality will be determined by the level of new talent's search, the number of observers whom you own (in Staff section) and by a factor of unpredictability. The age of the driver who is hired through talent scouts depends on the talent scout's skills: if this level is high you can hire younger drivers (down to the limit of 18 years). By clicking on the "Hire driver" button, your talent scout will introduce you a promising driver to hire (no more than one per week). You can decide whether to hire him or to reject him and see the next (it won't be possible to come back to the previous one, once it has been discarded). The higher your talent scout's search level, the longer the list of drivers to introduce one after the other, the higher the number of the characteristics displayed: name, photo (for PM), country, weight, coolness, judgment, dpi, age, and up to a maximum of three skills. The hiring cost of the driver will slightly rise of 1.000 € every time you reject one and will be paid as soon as you decide to hire him in your team. There is not a fixed limit in the number of drivers, but if you have more than 6 drivers in your team (at the moment of daily updating) you will have a decrease of 5 points in teamwork and of 1 point in the level of talent scouts' research. Drivers whose contract is expirying (with 0-season contract in the week 11) will not be counted among drivers for penalty. The level of new talents' research increase according to weekly investment which are made and can be of 6 types: no investment (the level quality doesn't increase and tend todisastrous) 1.000 € (max reachable level mediocre) 5.000 € (max reachable level very good) 15.000 € (max reachable level magnificent) 25.000 € (max reachable level immense) 50.000 € (max reachable level insuperable) In order to increase investments you must consider that the expected availability added to the present pending offers (in entrance as well as in exit)would never go under the amount of -200.000 € or you will not be allowed to carry out further financial movements, including the finding of funds addressed to the research of new talents. Lowering or deleting investments in the research of young talents can bring a drop in the level reached in the drivers' research, in a rapid way if the drop in the investment is drastic. In fact the level tends to the maximum reachable level with the new investment. Drivers in details Each driver has an univocal identification number (ID), and he is described through different characteristics. The talent. Driver's hidden characteristic which is basically the growth of his ability: more talented drivers will grow more and in less time. From the drivers' page it's possible to assess the talent of one driver per week (this opportunity is renewed with the weekly update). The assessment costs 10.000 € and will offer an accurate insight into the drivers “hidden” talent. The accuracy of the report will depend on the level of skill your Talent Scouts have achieved. The assessment will never give an exact value, but will give an indication of the range the talent falls between, in particular of its "colour". With the Scouts research level at disastrous you can not assess the talent of a driver, and with the Scouts research level at insuperable the assessment will give a more exact indication of the colour level of the driver’s talent. Listed below are the values specified by the talent assessment: "talentless" "competent" "accomplished" "masterful" "a future champion" The age. Each driver has an age which is written in years and months. With the week update, the months of a driver are increased by 1 unity. When a driver reach 12 months, with the next week update his years value will be increased. The age (driver years) is important for training, in fact younger drivers train and grow more rapidly while elder drivers can suffer negative changes and so they can worsen in their abilities. The weight. Weight is a driver characteristic which assumes importance at the moment of the race when the car suffers substantial speed changes according to the total weight of the car where also the driver obviously sits. Your pilots will tend to put on a tiny quantity of weight every week (during the training updates, whether they are training or not). They will put on about 1.5 kilos per season if you don’t hire any coach. Driver's place of birth. The character. The driver's character is described through 3 characteristics which don't change: 1- A component which judges his degree of bravery that is his propension to overtake in conditions of danger and to cover the pitlane at maximum speed. The more reckless and daredevil he is, the greater the overall number of attempted overtakes, the risk of mistakes and the run speed in the pitlane. in fact a driver can be timorous temporizer patient reckless daredevil 2- A component which exemplifies the judgement in the use of the car: the more shrewd the driver, the less he consumes the car components but he has a slower average trend, the more aggressive he is and more the car is destined to have a short life but he has an advantage in the speed. In this sense a driver can be shrewd careful steady aggressive crazy 3- A component related to coolness of the driver during the race when he has to avoid an imminent overtake to his detriment. The more impressionable he is and the more he risks to make the decisive mistake in the climax of the race and to be overtaken, the colder he is and the more he resists the rival pressure. the driver can be nervous impressionable quiet impassive cold The DPI the driver power index. This is an index of evaluation of the driver's value. It can be used to give an evaluation on the driver price in the market and it represents a quick summary of the variable characteristics of a racer. The skills of a driver are described by adjectives that are ranked in increasing order. These adjectives also regard the engineers' skills, the characteristics of each component of the car and the added level of research for drivers as well as for the car components are the following: disastrous awful inadequate mediocre insufficient acceptable great very good phenomenal peachy wonderful magnificent amazing portentous colossal immense prodigious perfect heroic insuperable The form. In this context we don't just refer to the physical form but we mean a set of physical and mental factors. So the form is more intended as stress of the driver. Also midweek training (they will be explained in the opposite section) affects the driver's form at the moment according to the hardness of training. However you need to consider that a winning driver will increase his physical and mental health contrasting the negative effects caused by race stress. The contrary happens for those drivers who can't get high-level positions and who are subjected to drop in form. The current form parameter is updated immediately after an official race. The experience of a driver increases at every race he take part in. Also the midweek training cause an increase in experience even if to a smaller degree. A more experienced driver also knows how to make his car go faster but above all he will be more able than an unexperienced driver to overtake or to prevent being overtaken during the race as well as at the start. Driver's variable skills. Skills are divided into primary (braking, change gear, acceleration, following the trajectory)and secondary (resistance, technique, reflexes, mechanical knowledge). Each skill affects the average car speed to a different degree (the primary more than the secondary) and according to the characteristics of the circuit where you race: Braking skill: this refers to the driver's skill in the use of brakes. The stop has a great weight in overtaking at the entrance of bends. A driver who is able in the use of brakes will also succeed in wearing out the car braking system less. Change gear skill: this represents the driver's skill in the use of gears. It has great importance during overtaking at the exit of bends. Also in this case the more able the driver is in the use of the gearbox the more he avoids a rapid wear and tear of the transmission system. Acceleration skill: The driver's skill in acceleration weighs even more upon circuits with lots of straight stretches, affecting overtaking at the exit but also on the start. Following the trajectories: The driver's skill in correctly following the trajectories has a great weight in the case of a high number of bends in a circuit. Furthermore this ability is even more considered in overtaking at the entrance of bends. Physical resistance: The driver's physical resistance comes into play prevalently when the circuit where you race is in a bad condition and if it has a high number of bends. Technique: this represents a driver's quality and it isn't affected by other parameters and in every situation it can be useful to the racer who is provided with it, particularly during the start. Furthermore the more technical a driver is, the greater the benefits will be in the case of bad weather. Reflexes: they have a fundamental importance during the start. Mechanical knowledge: this affects the average car speed to a smaller degree in comparison to all other skills, and it assumes a fundamental importance if you want to transform a driver into an engineer. Contracts. The driver's contractual management is managed through renewals and dismissals. A driver who has a 1-season contract can renew it for 1, 2 or 3 additional seasons. A driver with a 2-season contract can renew it for one or 2 additional seasons and finally a driver with a 3-season contract can renew it for only one further season. Each time the driver's agent will propose a salary which the racer will be ready to accept. It's possible to contract only one renewal per season. During week 12 it isn't possible to negotiate any contractual renewals for drivers. Contract expiry and dismissal of drivers. A driver that has only a 1-season contract before the contract updating during week 11 will be automatically removed from the game (a notification of this approaching deadline will be sent to the users some weeks in advance). A team can dismiss drivers also before the end of the contract. In this case, the team will pay a penalty for the early contract interruption equal to a percentage of the total salary that he would have received for the remaining weeks of contract. A sacked driver will be retired from racing and disqualified from his championship. Therefore, if the driver is in the drivers championship ranking when he is sacked, he is removed from it and loses all rights on points and prizes. |
